The article is a synthesis of contemporary international studies on the psychological assessment of post-stroke individuals, the core aspect of its success being the establishment of the working alliance between the clinical psychologist and the person in the therapeutic process. The human model that the psychologist offers to the patient becomes the aspect with the greatest impact in the working alliance, supported by a theoretical training and a consistent practice. The defined aims and functions of the psychological assessment tools, which are used to collect and validate the patient information, cover a wide range of symptoms. Aspects of the information resulting from the evaluation process, are identified for their display in the final report and in the therapeutic recommendations.

Articolul prezintă o sinteză a studiilor contemporane la nivel internațional privind evaluarea psihologică a persoanelor în situația de post accident vascular cerebral, aspectul fundamental al succesului fiind considerat stabilirea alianței de lucru între psihologul clinician și persoană în cadrul procesului terapeutic. Modelul uman individual oferit de psiholog are cel mai mare impact în alianța de lucru, susținut de o pregătire teoretică și o practică consistentă. Sunt definite scopurile și funcțiile instrumentelor de evaluare psihologică care, fiind combinate, pentru culegerea și validarea informațiilor despre pacient, acoperă o plajă largă de simptome. Se identifică aspecte în prezentarea informațiilor rezultate din procesul de evaluare în raportul final și a recomandărilor terapeutice.
